A glasses-wearing turtle is one of the many recurring puppets featured in Puppet Up! - Uncensored stage shows and various other Henson Alternative productions.
The turtle puppet was previously used in a variety of Henson Company productions, including Jim Henson's Animal Show as Penelope the Yellow-Footed Tortoise, in Bear in the Big Blue House as Jeremiah Tortoise, and as an extra in the 2002 direct-to-video movie Kermit's Swamp Years.
The puppet was featured in the "Fantastic Race" episode of Alt/Reality. The turtle (performed by Allan Trautman) was pitted against a hare in a faux reality-TV competition show. The turtle puppet also appeared in the "Bollywood" episode of Neil's Puppet Dreams (performed by Nathan Danforth) singing with a pug.
The puppet was recycled as Fenton on That Puppet Game Show and as Senator George Galapagos, a 22 term senator from North Carolina, on No, You Shut Up!.
