Professor Ape is a character performed by Allan Trautman in various Puppet Up! - Uncensored sketches. The spectacle-wearing orangutan is often featured as a father figure telling bedtime stories to his sons or as an intellectual philosopher discussing deep and meaningful issues with other puppets.

The ape puppet was previously featured on Jim Henson's Animal Show (as Jackie and Lawrence the orangutans), and was later used as Skreet in the The Simian Undercover Detective Squad where he was also performed by Trautman.

Seeing as Professor Ape is a live-hand puppet, Trautman is often assisted in performing the character by another puppeteer operating the character's right hand.
