SF Sketchfest, or The San Francisco Sketch Comedy Festival, is a comedy festival founded in 2002 by comedians David Owen, Janet Varney and Cole Stratton. It takes place in a variety of San Francisco venues.

Brian Henson in ConversationEdit

In January 2011 the festival featured "Brian Henson in Conversation with Neil Patrick Harris", an exclusive discussion with Brian Henson hosted by Neil Patrick Harris. The event included live puppet demonstrations and in-depth discussion of the creative process behind Henson's work, various puppetry techniques, and developing comedy for puppets.

When asked about the event Harris said: "puppets have always been my bag. The first fan mail letter I ever wrote was to Jim Henson when I was 6 or 7 years old. I learned how to share from Sesame Street, and my sense of humor from movies like the Labyrinth and the Muppets. Sunday will be like Inside the Actor's Studio, only with puppets."[1]

The one-time-only show took place at 1:00pm on January 23, 2011 at Cobb's Comedy Club in San Francisco.

Stuffed and UnstrungEdit

In August 2011 SF Sketchfest and SHN presented ten shows of the Jim Henson Company's Stuffed and Unstrung stage show at the Curran Theatre. The shows ran from August 18-27. Performers included Brian Henson, Leslie Carrara-Rudolph, Colleen Smith and Ted Michaels (for all 10 shows); plus Michael Oosterom and Paul Rugg (for the first week), and Bill Barretta and Grant Baciocco (for the second week).
