In November 2011 it was reported that NBC closed a script deal for The New Nabors, single-camera comedy project that centered on a family that lives in Palm Springs and is aghast with their new neighbors - a group of puppets.[1]
Feature writer John Hoffman (Good Boy!) and John Riggi (30 Rock) wrote the script for The New Nabors, which they developed with Lisa Henson and The Jim Henson Company. Henson, Hoffman and Riggi were executive producers, with longtime Henson producer Alex Rockwell also attached.
It is said the spelling of Nabors is an homage to singer/actor Jim Nabors.
The series was not picked up.
